The Rundown: Luke’s investigation gets more dangerous and Joon finds herself in the line of fire.
A masked killer has snuck into Joon’s apartment and Luke finds himself fighting for his life against the man with Joon attempting to help while wondering if this is the person that she kills. As the man escapes, Luke and Joon take to the streets to see her porn star client to determine if someone connected to her case could be the killer.
After seeing her charity work, the three of them head to her manager’s office where an unexpected reveal leads to a dangerous standoff. In the aftermath, Joon decides to leave Luke behind to follow a lead at a dangerous bar connected to a gang.
The Story: Tobin continues to craft a slick, fun and inventive story in this issue. I love how the story starts with big action and keeps that energy throughout with the characters solving a mystery in a clever and interesting way. I like the dynamic between Joon and Luke as well and how they verbally spar with each other. I continue to enjoy the mystery developing in this series and I look forward to seeing what happens next.
The Art: Olivares delivers stunning art throughout the issue. Not only do I love the detailed character designs, but I enjoy the look and feel of the world they live in.
